Dave Parkin - Director

After leaving school Dave worked in engineering. He qualified as an approved driving instructor in 1994. Initially he worked with a local driving school where he gained experience, and after a short time became involved in instructor training.
In 2000 Dave started his own driving school which he ran until 2006. During this time, apart from teaching learner drivers he became fleet registered and did work for a local authority, delivering the in car elements of the National Driver Improvement Scheme, speed awareness and environment courses. He then moved on to deliver the classroom parts of these courses.
In 2006 Dave wound down his driving school to join a2om as Senior Educator. He was responsible for delivering a2oms BETA pilot in various parts of the UK. He also assisted with the development of the UK version of CD-drives and helped to develop the a2om curriculum. He was also responsible for recruiting, training and the management of a2oms ADIs, overseeing quality and instructional standards. Dave helped to develop and delivered a2oms instructor training course at Cranfield University. He also delivered skid avoidance training at Driving Camp in Vienna, Austria.
In 2008 Dave was promoted to Director and was responsible for the development and roll out of a2oms BTEC in Driving Science. He was also the primary point of contact for their BTEC project along with other commercial and Local Government projects.
Dave is a member of the institute of advanced motoring and is a grade 6 ADI. He holds City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Delivering Learning (7302) and City and Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Further Education Teaching (7407). Dave also attended Cranfield University's course on Managing Human Factors in Driving.
In 2009 Dave co-founded eDriving solutions and is responsible for resource development.
